The Robert A. and Sandra S. Borns Jewish Studies Program at Indiana University is pleased to provide conference funding on a competitive basis to help graduate students who specialize in Jewish Studies present their research at major association meetings and conferences. Note: We follow university guidelines on travel.
Application procedure
Submit a conference program or letter of invitation; a letter of reference; a budget; and cover letter indicating the significance of the conference to your course of study, dates of travel, and method of travel. If you have applied for other funding for the conference, please include details. Students applying for international travel may need to obtain approval from the College/OVPIA. See: https://global.iu.edu/resources/mobility-updates/index.html
Applications will be considered on a rolling basis and must be submitted at least six weeks prior to the conference.
Awards will be limited to a maximum of $750 for travel within North America and $1,500 for international travel, and typically no more than one award per year per student. The university requires that we post conference funding awards directly to a student’s Bursar account. Providing you don’t have any outstanding charges on your Bursar account, it’s their practice to forward any credit balance on the account directly to you (via check or direct deposit to your bank account, depending on how your account is set up). If you have any questions about how this award might affect your financial aid package (if any), please contact OSFA directly at http://studentcentral.indiana.edu/financial-aid/index.shtml ; visit/call their office (Student Central at 408 N. Union Street / 812.855.6500) ; or contact them via the Secure Contact Form: Student Central: Indiana University Bloomington.
Applications should be submitted to the Borns Jewish Studies Program, Indiana University, Global & International Studies Building 4004a, 355 N. Jordan Avenue, Bloomington, IN 47405-1105; iujsp@iu.edu.
Priority will be given to Jewish Studies M.A. and doctoral minors.
