One of the greatest assets to the Jewish Studies Program is our tight-knit undergraduate community. Our students have many opportunities to get to know and work with the faculty, staff, graduate students, and other undergraduates.
Each year, Jewish Studies students are invited to a number of special events, including our Fall Dessert, the Jewish Studies Majors-Faculty dinner, and a Spring Celebration of academic achievements. This provides students opportunities to be part of the whole Jewish Studies community at IU and to build relationships with faculty and other students.
One of the only organizations of its kind, the Jewish Studies Student Association (JSSA) is an integral part of the Jewish Studies undergraduate experience. The JSSA puts on multiple events each semester to promote interaction between students and faculty, provide informal learning opportunities related to Jewish Studies, and cultivate a sense of community through social events. Recent events have included: a Sushi Dinner, a Hanukkah Craftaganza, a trivia night with faculty, and more!
