Course Description

Social media has become the primary source of information for many users, including about complex issues and entire countries, such as Israel. This course explores the complex and evolving landscape of perceptions surrounding Israel in the realm of social media. It will look at U.S.-Israel relations and the history of Israel from multiple perspectives and viewpoints. Through a multidisciplinary approach, students will critically analyze how Israel is portrayed, discussed, and perceived on various social media platforms. The course will delve into the role of social media in shaping public opinion, influencing political discourse, and impacting international relations. It will also incorporate group research projects involving the analysis of social media data.
