Topic:Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

The goal of the course is to make students aware of the nature and background of the major issues at stake in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, why the conflict seems intractable, how issues have been examined and discussed by various academic disciplines and media, and the conflict’s importance in the world.  Equally important is to learn to understand different perspectives and to develop the use of critical methods.  Along the way, students are expected to acquire a basic knowledge of the history and current politics of the conflict, its geography, the narratives of the parties, and terminology.
